In celebration of Jose Rizal’s 164th birth anniversary, the National Parks Development Commission (NPDC) will open access beyond the usual barriers at the Rizal Monument in Manila for close-up selfies today.
The “Rizal Up Close” event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., allowing visitors to take photos near the statue, which is normally off-limits.
A wreath-laying ceremony honoring Rizal’s legacy is scheduled for 8 a.m.
Interactive activities, including mirror selfies and a “Stamp-A-Souvenir” booth, will take place at the nearby Noli Me Tangere Garden.
Visitors are reminded to observe proper decorum while participating in the celebrations.
