REMULLA CLAIMS MARCOS’ ANTI-DRUG DRIVE SUCCEEDS WITHOUT FATALITIES

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said the anti-drug campaign under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is effective and “works without killing anyone.”

He criticized the previous administration’s rewards system for police officers, which he claimed encouraged corruption and abuses during the Duterte drug war.

Data from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency showed nearly P83 billion worth of drugs were seized from 2022 to 2025, with an increased number of high-value targets arrested compared to the previous administration.

Remulla also reported a decrease in methamphetamine supply and demand, citing a rise in its street price as evidence.

Despite government claims, human rights groups estimate over 1,000 drug-related killings have occurred since Marcos took office in 2022.
