The Pasig City Regional Trial Court rejected Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s request to attend a live TV interview regarding his Senate candidacy, citing “lack of merit.”
The court expressed concerns over the potential legal and public risks of Quiboloy discussing his pending qualified human trafficking case during the broadcast.
It emphasized that public statements could undermine the impartiality and integrity of the ongoing judicial process.
While acknowledging his right to campaign, the court reminded Quiboloy that such rights are subject to legal regulation.
Quiboloy, leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, faces a non-bailable offense in the Pasig court.
