Quezon City was honored with the Green Banner Seal of Compliance Award by the National Nutrition Council – NCR for its outstanding nutrition and health programs benefiting QCitizens.
Mayor Joy Belmonte led the acceptance of the award, joined by health officials Dr. Ramona Abarquez, Dr. Olive Esquivas, and Jai Sideco.
The city also bagged awards for Best LGU in Dietary Supplementation Program and Best LGU in Overweight and Obesity Management and Prevention Program.
Additionally, the QC Nutrition Committee received the ‘Rising Star’ Webby Award for excellence in digital nutrition information dissemination.
Last year, Quezon City was recognized as the Most Improved LGU in Nutrition Program Implementation, with Mayor Belmonte also receiving the Nutrition Leadership Award.
