The Quezon City government urged residents to wear face masks after air quality levels in parts of the city reached “unhealthy” and “very unhealthy” levels.
In a Facebook post, the city warned those with respiratory illnesses to stay indoors and assured that air quality is being closely monitored.
Residents experiencing breathing difficulties are advised to contact city health services or the QC Helpline 122.
Meanwhile, in nearby Montalban, Rizal, a landfill fire has worsened air conditions, prompting evacuations and mask distributions by the local government.
Authorities continue to coordinate with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources for air quality testing and emergency responses.
