Quezon City was named a Hall of Fame Awardee by the Department of Finance–Bureau of Local Government Finance for topping all Philippine cities in Locally Sourced Revenues (LSR) for five consecutive years from 2020 to 2024.
The recognition was given during the DOF-BLGF’s 38th anniversary celebration on November 5, with Mayor Joy Belmonte, City Treasurer Edgar Villanueva, and City Assessor Atty. Sherry Gonzalvo accepting the awards.
In 2024 alone, the city generated P28.8 billion in LSR, primarily from real property taxes, business taxes, and other non-tax revenues.
Belmonte credited the achievement to strong governance, public trust, and digital reforms in revenue collection, such as online payment systems and streamlined assessments.
The award highlights Quezon City’s reputation as a national leader in local fiscal governance, showing that transparency and digitalization can drive sustainable economic growth.
