Quezon City launched a week-long series of events to mark Earth Day 2025, addressing textile pollution and promoting sustainable consumption.
The campaign, led by the Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department, includes activities centered on sustainable fashion, circularity, and reducing the impact of fast fashion.
The celebration kicked off with “Car-free, Carefree Sunday” on April 20, featuring family-friendly activities like Zumba, an Easter Egg Word Hunt, and the distribution of tree saplings.
On April 22, a puppet show on climate action was held for children with disabilities, emphasizing inclusive environmental education.
The week also features a sustainable fashion competition, a clothes-swapping event for government employees, and ongoing community orientations on water quality management, all aimed at advancing Quezon City’s broader sustainability goals.
