The Philippine National Police (PNP) has announced enhanced security measures ahead of the anti‑corruption rallies scheduled for November 30, following the violent turn of the September 21 protest.
Acting Chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. confirmed that deployments will be expanded, surveillance and barrier systems strengthened, and coordination with protest organisers and local governments stepped up.
While the PNP emphasises maximum tolerance for peaceful assembly, it reaffirmed a zero‑tolerance stance toward violent or destructive acts, such as setting fires or throwing projectiles.
Intelligence efforts have been intensified to monitor threat groups and prevent the infiltration of masked disruptors witnessed previously.
The police aim to ensure the public’s right to protest is upheld while safeguarding security and public order.
