According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), Taal Volcano remains calm with no volcanic smog or earthquake activity detected as of Monday.
Phivolcs Director Teresito Bacolcol stated that the main crater of Taal is clear, and no vog has formed as of Monday morning.
However, steam emissions from the volcano were observed reaching a height of 2,400 meters and drifting in a north-northwest direction.
On Sunday afternoon, a vog formed inside Taal’s main crater but dissipated due to rainfall and strong winds. Bacolcol emphasized that Phivolcs has not detected any indications of a potential eruption at Taal.
Taal Volcano is known for its high activity level, as the Philippines experiences periodic eruptions and earthquakes due to its location in the Pacific “Ring of Fire,” an area prone to intense seismic activity.
