President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. stated that there is no current request from the US for the extradition of Apollo Quiboloy, who faces serious criminal charges including sex trafficking and human trafficking.
Marcos emphasized that Quiboloy, the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, must first address the criminal complaints in the Philippines before any potential extradition request is considered.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla added that Quiboloy should face trial in the Philippines and any US extradition request would be reviewed after this process.
Meanwhile, Quiboloy’s lawyers claimed he voluntarily surrendered, a statement refuted by Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, who called it “kwentong kutsero” (tall tale).
Abalos also warned of potential charges for anyone obstructing Quiboloy’s arrest and indicated that blurred mugshots of Quiboloy would be investigated.
