President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. congratulated the Gilas Pilipinas Youth for winning the FIBA U16 Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers gold medal.
Marcos praised the team’s undefeated 6-0 run as a clear demonstration of Filipino youth’s talent and determination.
He assured the team of continued support as they prepare for the next stage in the FIBA Asia Cup.
Gilas secured their gold medal with a decisive 70-40 victory over Indonesia in Pampanga.
The Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia will represent Southeast Asia at the FIBA U16 Asia Cup in Mongolia this July.
