Malacañang has again rejected Vice President Sara Duterte’s call for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to undergo a drug test.
Sara Duterte, Marcos’ former ally turned critic, alleged that the First Family used illegal drugs and said government officials cannot refuse such tests.
Palace spokesperson Claire Castro dismissed the request, noting that a sitting president cannot be ordered to take a drug test and recalling that former President Rodrigo Duterte also ignored similar challenges.
Marcos has previously undergone a drug test in 2021, which confirmed he tested negative for cocaine.
The Palace emphasized that the president will continue his work and is ignoring accusations, including those from his sister, Senator Imee Marcos.
