Malacañang rejected claims that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is at his “weakest” amid ongoing corruption scandals, saying he continues to lead investigations and hold officials accountable.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro cited the arrest and charging of high-profile individuals as evidence of strengthened anti-corruption efforts.
She emphasized that calls for the president to resign ignore the responsibility required to manage the government through such crises.
Castro added that Marcos will not interfere with the Independent Commission for Infrastructure’s probe into anomalous flood control projects but is prepared to face the body if necessary.
She noted that the Office of the Ombudsman has already jailed several individuals linked to the ghost projects, following the president’s move to expose the anomalies.
