Pag-IBIG Fund will begin producing socialized housing units through partnerships with shelter agencies and private contractors to address the declining supply and meet its 2025 home loan target of ₱156.86 billion.
Deputy CEO Benjamin Felix said this marks the first time Pag-IBIG will move beyond financing into housing development, citing the urgent need to augment production.
As of May, only ₱49.48 billion in loans—just over 30% of the annual goal—has been released. CEO Marilene Acosta remains optimistic about hitting the target with support from the revamped “Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino” (4PH) program under new housing czar Jose Ramon Aliling.
Pag-IBIG aims to support low-income borrowers through subsidized loans and plans to form joint ventures to deliver horizontal housing projects like townhouses and single-detached homes.
