The Pag-IBIG Fund has thrown its support behind the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) plan to use modern construction technology to accelerate the delivery of socialized housing.
Pag-IBIG CEO Marilene Acosta cited precast construction materials to be produced by Megawide Construction Corp. following the launch of its facility in Taytay, Rizal, attended by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr..
DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said modern construction methods and public-private partnerships will help deliver safe, quality homes faster under the expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.
Pag-IBIG said the partnership with Megawide could result in the construction of over 7,000 housing units within two years, supported by billions of pesos in housing development financing.
Marcos said more than 423,000 housing units have already been built or financed under the Expanded 4PH, as the government pushes for affordable housing access nationwide.
