The LTFRB has issued a show cause order against the operator of a taxi that allegedly tried to overcharge Korean singer Soobin in Cebu.
The incident, captured in Soobin’s vlog, involved the driver raising the agreed fare from P500 to P1,000, despite the singer saying it should have been P300.
LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza called the act serious, noting it harms the country’s international reputation and cited the viral video as strong evidence.
The operator was also ordered to surrender the taxi’s license plate and the driver’s license.
While gas prices have risen due to Middle East tensions, the planned fare hike for land transport vehicles was suspended.
