OPM LEGEND FREDDIE AGUILAR DIES AT 72

Original Pilipino Music (OPM) legend Freddie Aguilar passed away at 72 due to multiple organ failure, confirmed by his former wife, Josephine Quiepo. 

The iconic folk singer, known for timeless hits like “Anak” and “Magdalena,” died at the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City early Tuesday morning. 

Aguilar, also known as Abdul Farid after converting to Islam, is survived by his children Maegan, Jonan, Isabella, and Jeriko. 

Funeral preparations are underway according to his Muslim faith. 

Despite controversies in his life, Aguilar remains a beloved figure in Filipino music history.
