The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity released P11.7 million in livelihood assistance to 39 former rebel-led organizations in Soccsksargen under its Transformation Program.
The aid aims to support enterprise development and strengthen peace efforts in conflict-affected communities across South Cotabato, Sarangani, Cotabato, and Sultan Kudarat.
Beneficiaries, composed of former members of the CPP-NPA-NDF, received seed capital for projects such as farming, retail, livestock raising, and coffee processing.
OPAPRU said the program uses a localized peace strategy focused on security, reconciliation, and socio-economic intervention to help former rebels reintegrate into society.
Officials added that monitoring of the projects will continue to ensure the long-term economic progress of the participating organizations.
