The Philippine National Police (PNP) awarded the Medal of Heroism to 3,698 personnel for their service as Special Electoral Board contingents during the 2025 midterm elections.
PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Marbil emphasized the high level of competency and impartiality required for these roles.
Some of these officers may also be deployed for the upcoming Bangsamoro parliamentary elections in October.
With election duties completed, Marbil announced a return to community-focused policing, encouraging more patrols and the activation of civilian force multipliers like barangay watchmen.
Currently, 686 officers are still returning from Mindanao to their regular assignments.
