Vice President Sara Duterte’s defense team questioned the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) documents during her impeachment trial, raising concerns over typographical errors, mismatched docket numbers, and a changed date stamp.
NBI Regional Director Jeremy Lotoc said he could not explain the discrepancies, noting that docket numbers and document stamps were handled by other offices.
The defense questioned whether the inconsistencies could indicate document tampering, while prosecutors objected to the allegations.
Lotoc maintained that despite the issues, there were no major differences in the contents of the affidavits.
The documents are part of the NBI’s findings related to Duterte’s alleged threats that are being examined under Article IV of the impeachment case.
