The Senate Committee on Public Order will summon key law enforcement agencies, including the NBI, DOJ, PNP, and DILG, to investigate the May 13 shooting, Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano announced.
He said the Senate has evidence contradicting official findings and aims to get to the bottom of the case through hearings.
Cayetano stressed that President Marcos is being misinformed and expressed his willingness to work with the executive branch professionally.
He also highlighted the importance of an independent legislature in addressing unresolved national issues, citing the flood control scam and smuggling.
The Senate’s investigation underscores lawmakers’ determination to hold agencies accountable and ensure transparency in high-profile cases.
