Business tycoon Manuel V. Pangilinan has pledged support for Ramon Ang’s flood control initiatives in Metro Manila following a recent meeting.
The two executives agreed to coordinate efforts with Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon in a public-private partnership aimed at addressing the city’s flooding problems.
Ang’s San Miguel Corporation has been leading the Better Rivers PH program since 2020, removing over 8.5 million metric tons of silt and waste from local waterways at no cost to the government.
Pangilinan also plans to encourage other corporations to join the flood control efforts.
The two business leaders have a history of collaboration in various sectors, including energy, tollways, and retail investments.
