MMDA LAUNCHES MOTORCYCLE RIDING ACADEMY FOR ENHANCED ROAD SAFETY

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) opened its Motorcycle Riding Academy in Pasig City on Wednesday.

The academy aims to improve road safety by providing free formal training to motorcycle riders on the theoretical and practical aspects of motorcycle riding, as well as basic emergency response training.

The academy is located on a lot owned by the Government Service Insurance System and is not far from the new MMDA headquarters in Pasig.

It features shipping containers converted into classrooms and around 100 motorcycles that riders can use for free.

The motorcycles were donated by senators, local government units, and motorcycle businesses.

Trainees will take a two-day course that covers basic road emergency response, road traffic rules, an introduction to the basic parts of a motorcycle, how to control and operate a motorcycle, how to ride in a stationary and moving position, and how to practice their riding skills.

Those who complete the training and pass the motorcycle riding skills test will be given a certificate and badge by the MMDA.
