Millions of Filipino farmers have benefited from the agricultural support programs under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration, the Department of Agriculture (DA) reported.
This includes assistance through free seedlings, farm machinery, fertilizer subsidies, crop insurance, and advanced technologies like drones.
The country’s farm mechanization level improved to 2.78 horsepower per hectare, nearing the ASEAN average, to reach 3.40 hp/ha soon.
Since 2022, over 5.6 million farmers received free fertilizer via discount vouchers, and nearly 12 million farmers accessed crop insurance payments worth PHP390 billion.
Additionally, the government has distributed tens of thousands of machinery units and thousands of processing facilities to boost agricultural productivity.
