EB Magalona Mayor Matthew Louis Malacon has assured residents that there is no need to panic over suspected hand-foot-and-mouth disease (HFMD) cases reported in eight barangays.
While the cases are still pending confirmation from the Department of Health (DOH), precautionary measures have already been implemented, including class suspensions at two elementary schools and all child development centers from July 10 to 11.
During this period, students will continue learning through emergency kits as disinfection protocols are carried out.
The town’s health office, led by Dr. Edmundo Janeo Jr., is verifying the reported cases, with guidance from the DOH and the Provincial Health Office.
Mayor Malacon urged residents to remain calm, practice good hygiene, and await official test results.
