Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso inspected flood-prone areas along Taft Avenue on Saturday morning amid heavy rains caused by Tropical Storm Crising.
Joined by Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office personnel, he checked ongoing drainage operations and floodgate conditions to improve water flow and prevent flooding.
Despite the rain, most major roads remained passable, though some parts of Taft Avenue neared gutter-deep flooding.
Domagoso credited the city’s preparedness efforts, including clearing drains and deploying water pumps, for minimizing flood impact, while urging residents not to dump garbage in waterways.
Emergency teams remain on alert as PAGASA warns of possible localized flooding in Metro Manila.
