Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso credited prudent fiscal management for helping sustain public services and expand programs for residents.
He said disciplined spending has improved the city’s financial position after previously describing it as being in a “financial ICU.”
Domagoso stressed that the responsible use of public funds ensures the uninterrupted delivery of essential services.
He added that sound budgeting also gives the city greater capacity to invest in projects that improve the quality of life of Manileños.
The mayor made the remarks during the Kapihan ng Samahang Plaridel at the Manila Hotel.
