MARINE VESSEL STRANDED IN CAMARINES SUR WATERS

A marine vessel, LCT Golden Phoenix, ran aground in the waters off San Miguel Bay, Barangay Matandang Siruma, Camarines Sur, on August 7, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported.

Strong winds and currents were identified as the causes of the incident during a follow-up investigation.

The vessel, carrying construction materials, had 13 Filipino crew members onboard, all of whom were safe and unharmed.

The ship’s captain and the shipping company are arranging a hull inspection by divers and preparing the required maritime documentation.

The PCG deployed personnel to the site for verification, but initial inspection efforts were delayed due to rough sea conditions.
