Following recent typhoons and the southwest monsoon, Marikina’s local government launched clearing operations to remove flood debris and restore cleanliness.
On July 26, city workers cleaned the jogging lane from Barangay Sto. Niño to Barangays Malanday and Tumana, removing branches, garbage, and mud left by the floods.
The City Environmental Management Office had earlier cleared the Tumana–Malanday Pumping Station to maintain water flow amid ongoing rains.
Authorities assured residents that the declogging of drainage canals will continue to prevent future flooding.
These efforts follow Mayor Marjorie Ann Teodoro’s directive to keep the city safe and clean for its residents.
