President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced that Palarong Pambansa medalists will receive incentives from the Philippine Sports Commission for the first time.
Speaking during the opening ceremony in Agusan del Sur, Marcos said the incentives would recognize achievers in both regular sports and paragames.
He also praised the athletes for representing not only their schools and regions but also the dreams of fellow young Filipinos.
Marcos encouraged participants to compete with honor, respect, and humility, while reminding those who may lose not to give up.
The President assured young athletes of the government’s continued support for their sports training and development.
