President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. dismissed rumors that Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. had resigned, calling the reports “fake news” from “desperate” critics of his administration.
Marcos urged the public to be cautious about believing information from unreliable sources, especially online.
He assured that any official announcements regarding changes in the Cabinet would come directly from him.
Malacañang reaffirmed its full support for Teodoro and requested that the armed forces remain focused on their duties, free from political distractions.
Department of National Defense spokesperson Arsenio Andolong also denied the resignation claims and urged against spreading misinformation.
