MARCOS ADMIN MOVES TO COORDINATE ON AQUINO-SINGSON FLOOD PLAN

The Marcos administration is revisiting the flood control master plan developed during the Aquino administration, which remains unimplemented.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the Department of Public Works and Highways is now coordinating with Secretary Vince Dizon on the Aquino-Singson master plan.

The review will be conducted alongside ongoing projects addressing major river basins, some of which have already been completed, while others are expected to be completed before December 2026.

Castro said the government is prioritizing major river basin projects to mitigate flooding caused by heavy rains and typhoons.

She added that older master plans may need to be updated as they may no longer be suited to current conditions.
