Manila Water Co. Inc., led by Razon, has activated 2.5-megawatt solar power plants at three of its facilities to boost clean energy usage.
The newly energized solar systems, located at the Cardona Water Treatment Plant, East La Mesa Water Treatment Plant, and San Juan Compound, are expected to generate about 3.6 million kilowatt-hours annually.
The company aims to quadruple its use of renewable energy and is targeting a 30-megawatt solar portfolio.
Manila Water partnered with Ditrolic Energy Philippines in 2023 for the construction and management of these solar plants.
The company serves Metro Manila’s east zone, and several provinces, and operates businesses in Laguna, Clark, Boracay, and other international markets.
