Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna has condemned the assassination of Leninsky Bacud, the former chairman of Barangay 435 in Sampaloc and the first nominee of the Ang Bumbero ng Pilipinas Party-list. Bacud was shot multiple times by unidentified gunmen on Monday.
Mayor Lacuna extended her condolences to Bacud’s family and vowed to bring those responsible to justice.
She emphasized that fear and violence will not be tolerated in Manila and assured swift action from the local authorities.
Lacuna also met with Manila Police District officials, urging the public to stay vigilant and cooperate with the authorities in the ongoing investigation.
