The Malabon City government affirmed on Thursday that Mayor Jeannie Sandoval’s December 2023 trip to Tokyo was legitimate and free of irregularities.
The Commission on Audit (CoA) has requested a detailed liquidation of the P10 million spent on the trip.
Sandoval and City Administrator Alexander Rosete acknowledged receiving the CoA’s notice and are currently preparing a response.
The city’s accountant, Atty. Ana Juanito is working on submitting the necessary documents and additional information.
Rosete clarified that the CoA’s notice of suspension does not imply serious infractions, unlike a notice of disallowance.
