MADRIAGA ALLEGES POGO, DRUG FUNDING FOR SARA DUTERTE’S CAMPAIGN

Ramil Madriaga, who claims to be a former aide and alleged bagman of Vice President Sara Duterte, has asked Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla to investigate his corruption allegations against her.

In an affidavit submitted on Nov. 29, Madriaga alleged that Duterte’s 2022 vice presidential campaign was funded by Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) and drug lords, with him delivering millions in cash.

He also claimed to have been instructed to form the ISIP movement, a nationwide support network for Duterte’s campaign.

Malacañang stated that President Marcos has no personal knowledge of these alleged transactions but emphasized that all credible allegations against officials should be investigated.

Meanwhile, House lawmakers, including Leila de Lima and the Makabayan bloc, have urged authorities to verify Madriaga’s claims and ensure his safety while in detention.
