MACAPAGAL TARGETS OLONGAPO CITY COUNCIL SEAT IN 2025 ELECTIONS

Melanie Joy Rementilla Macapagal Driz, sister of Philippine National Railways chairman Michael Macapagal, is running for a seat on the Olongapo City Council in the 2025 elections.

Known as Joy Macapagal, she recently filed her certificate of candidacy and has a background in broadcasting and a decade of experience in sales and marketing within the financial sector.

As the daughter of former Olongapo City mayor Ted Macapagal, she aims to leverage her family’s public service legacy to enhance local governance.

If elected, she plans to establish a committee to oversee locators in the Subic Bay Freeport and promote collaboration with business communities to create job opportunities.

Macapagal also intends to advocate for a Malasakit Center at James Gordon Memorial Hospital, strengthen women’s rights, and improve services for senior citizens in Olongapo City.
