The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has extended the validity of motor vehicle registrations and driver’s licenses that expired on September 30 to accommodate those affected by recent typhoons and the Cebu earthquake.
LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said all regional and district offices have been instructed to waive fines and surcharges for late renewals.
He explained that the extension aims to assist motorists who were unable to process their documents due to government work suspensions.
The agency also extended until October 15 the deadline for settling traffic apprehension fines. Mendoza emphasized that the measure reflects the LTO’s commitment to public service amid recent calamities.
