The Land Transportation Office (LTO) chief, Atty. Vigor Mendoza praised Atty. Giovanni “Banoy” Lopez was appointed as the new head of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), calling his appointment “well-deserved.”
Mendoza said Lopez’s deep experience in the transportation sector makes him the right leader to drive reforms and improve the country’s transport system.
Lopez officially took over the DOTr leadership from former chief Vince Dizon, who moved to the Department of Public Works and Highways.
Before becoming DOTr secretary, Lopez served as undersecretary and held key roles in railway, aviation, and maritime projects.
Mendoza expressed confidence that Lopez will help achieve the transportation goals under President Marcos’ Bagong Pilipinas program.
