The Discaya family is once again facing scrutiny, this time over suspected substandard construction of the Philippine Film Heritage Building in Intramuros, Manila.
First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos personally inspected the site, noting issues such as leaks, exposed piping, and unfinished heat insulation.
The project’s Phase 2, valued at P107 million, is being handled by Great Pacific Builders and General Contractor, Inc., a company owned by the Discayas, and is scheduled for completion on September 4.
The Discayas are also under investigation for alleged irregularities in multi-million-peso flood-control projects.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board has revoked the licenses of nine companies linked to businesswoman and former Pasig mayoral candidate Cezarah “Sarah” Discaya.
