Former Vice President Leni Robredo is poised to become the first female mayor of Naga City, Camarines Sur, after securing a commanding lead in the 2025 mayoral race, based on initial unofficial results.
With 80.69% of election returns transmitted as of early Tuesday, May 13, Robredo has garnered 68,198 votes—far ahead of her rivals, who received fewer than 10,000 votes each.
Her victory marks a return to local politics in the city once led by her late husband, Jesse Robredo. Meanwhile, her running mate, Rep. Gabby Bordado, is leading a tight vice mayoral race against Tato Mendoza, a previous mayoral contender.
Outgoing Mayor Nelson Legacion opted not to seek reelection and instead leads the race for a congressional seat in Camarines Sur’s 3rd District.
