LA MESA ECOPARK COMPLETES ONE YEAR OF STEWARDSHIP BY MANILA WATER FOUNDATION

La Mesa Ecopark recently celebrated its first anniversary under the stewardship of Manila Water Foundation (MWF), marking a year of environmental progress and public engagement in Quezon City.

Since reopening in June 2024, the park has focused on watershed conservation, forest protection, biodiversity preservation, and climate action, welcoming over 120,000 visitors and planting more than 4,300 endemic trees.

The anniversary event featured the unveiling of a butterfly garden and a pickleball court, as well as a ceremonial planting of the native Mangkono tree.

MWF emphasized the park’s dual role as a recreational space and vital ecological hub, balancing outdoor activities with conservation efforts.

Looking ahead, MWF plans to expand eco-friendly programs and maintain La Mesa Ecopark as Metro Manila’s last green frontier.
