Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo has been appointed as the new Central Luzon police director, becoming the first female officer to hold the position in the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) history.
She replaces Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, who is now the Central Visayas police director. Fajardo, a lawyer and member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1996, will oversee police operations across seven provinces and three cities in Central Luzon.
Previously, she served as PNP spokesperson, deputy director for operations of the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group, and chief of Pampanga police.
Col. Randulf Tuano has been named as her successor as PNP spokesperson.
