The film Isla Babuyan premiered on September 19 as a tribute to the late talent manager Leo Dominguez, whose vision inspired the project.
British-Filipina newcomer Geraldine Jennings stars in her acting debut, fulfilling Dominguez’s promise to manage her career, with Lotlot de Leon playing her estranged mother.
The movie explores themes of family, survival, and reconciliation against a backdrop of drama, sensuality, and camp, earning an R-18 rating from the MTRCB.
Jennings described the film as both personal and entertaining, highlighting its mix of humor, emotional depth, and strong performances from an ensemble cast.
Directed by Jose Abdel Langi and produced by Solid Gold Entertainment, Isla Babuyan opens exclusively at Robinsons Movieworld cinemas on October 1.
