Quezon City 1st District Representative Juan Carlos Atayde inaugurated Aksyon Agad, the city’s first free dialysis center, located at the District 1 Mini City Hall in Barangay Bahay Toro.
Highlighting the significance of the center, Atayde noted that kidney disease affects around 35,000 Filipinos annually, emphasizing the need for such facilities.
He expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and House Speaker Martin Romualdez for their support in securing funding for the project, which will benefit not only District 1 but all of Quezon City.
Atayde announced plans to establish at least three more dialysis centers in his district to further assist kidney patients.
He underscored the importance of providing free dialysis, allowing patients to receive treatment without the burden of high costs.
