Finance Secretary Frederick Go has officially joined the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) Monetary Board after taking his oath of office on January 8, administered by BSP Governor Eli Remolona Jr.
Go was designated by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to serve as the Cabinet secretary on the board, succeeding former Finance Secretary Ralph Recto.
His appointment completes the seven-member council alongside Remolona and other board members, which is responsible for setting monetary policy and supervising the country’s financial system.
Before leading the Department of Finance, Go served as Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs, coordinating key economic and investment policies.
He also chaired the Economic Development Group, working closely with government agencies like the DBM, DTI, and SEC.
