Senator Imee Marcos officially parted ways with Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas, citing differences with the administration and actions that conflicted with her principles.
She expressed her decision to maintain independence and emphasized her focus on justice for Filipinos, particularly regarding the arrest of former President Duterte.
Alyansa campaign manager Toby Tiangco respected her choice and wished her luck while confirming the group would continue campaigning for its other candidates.
Meanwhile, Senator Marcos’s popularity in the latest SWS survey has significantly dropped, with her ranking falling to 16th place.
In contrast, reelectionist Senator Bong Go and Rep. Erwin Tulfo topped the survey, both securing 42% support, while the administration’s candidates continue to dominate the race.
