ILOILO CITY APPROVES ABOITIZ INFRA CAPITAL’S BULK WATER SUPPLY PROJECT

The Iloilo City government has approved Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc.’s (AIC) proposal to develop and operate the Iloilo Bulk Water Supply Project, reversing a decision made four months ago.

Mayor Jerry Treñas confirmed that the city’s Pre-Qualifications, Bids, and Awards Committee accepted the unsolicited proposal for the project, which is valued at PHP 8.45 billion.

The project will provide 80 million liters of potable water daily over a 33-year concession period.

AIC will now move forward with the negotiation stage, which will lead to the Swiss Challenge, allowing other bidders to match or exceed AIC’s offer.

Treñas emphasized the thoroughness of the evaluation and reassured the public that the city is focused on securing competitive pricing and high-quality water services for Iloilo residents.
