Senator Risa Hontiveros urged the opposition’s “Pink” and “Yellow” camps to consolidate their efforts and build on their gains from the May 12 elections to prepare for the 2028 national polls.
She highlighted the surprise top finishes of senators Bam Aquino and Francis Pangilinan, as well as her party, Akbayan’s strong party list showing.
Hontiveros also defended her request for the National Bureau of Investigation to probe Duterte-supporting vloggers accused of spreading disinformation against her, saying they crossed the line of free speech.
She denied allegations of bribery related to a witness who recanted testimony against Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, emphasizing the importance of holding those spreading falsehoods accountable.
Despite criticism from political opponents, Hontiveros remains steadfast in her call for unity and justice within the opposition.
