Honda announced plans to test its renewable energy technology in space through a partnership with U.S. companies, aiming for future use on the Moon.
The system, designed to generate electricity and oxygen using solar energy and lunar water, will be tested aboard the International Space Station.
Originally developed for Honda’s electric vehicles, the technology is now being adapted to support human life in space.
The system will produce hydrogen and oxygen during the lunar day and use them to generate power and breathable air during the lunar night.
Honda has been collaborating with Japan’s space agency JAXA and will conduct this latest test with Sierra Space and Tec-Masters as part of growing interest in the space industry.
